Reading books changed my life for good. It is always the best medium for me to learn new things.
You find information all over the place but books give you a complete all round information about a topic in detail.
Fortunately, many people understand this and continue to read books.
In the modern world, e-books are outselling physical paperback books. It is easy to consume, carry around and stored.
Especially books supported by Kindle.
With Kindle becoming popular, it also opened up a channel for more
The great thing is, you don’t have to be an established author or find a publishing company or even write your own books anymore.
It also provides a huge income stream for them without learning to market. Amazon does all that for you.
Anyone who is interested to write a book or hire someone to write can publish his book on kindle and earn using this method.
How do you make money using Kindle Publishing?
We started publishing books on Kindle a few years back and currently have about 7 books.
I have learned a lot about how this works.
Start with signing up for a free KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) account.
1. Find a profitable niche or category for your e-book
There are some books ideas that you might come up with that there simply isn’t are a big enough market for.
At the same time, you might come up with a book idea that there is a big market for, but the competition is too high so it’d be difficult to get your book noticed.
The secret to finding a PROFITABLE niche is finding one that has a decent-sized market while having low competition. Then surf the popular book selling websites to find the popular and trending niche.
Alternatively, you could also think of fiction ideas as well. But I primarily publish non-fiction books since I’ve found them to be much easier to create and market.
Your list could look something like this:
- Acne
- Weight Loss
- Photography
- Binge Eating
- Self-Confidence
- Parenting
- How To Write A Business Plan
This is just a few examples you are comfortable with or have knowledge about.
If you are a blogger, then stick to your niche so it is easy for you to write about and find audience as well.
Here is the Amazon list of popular niche as published in Kindle website.

2. Analyze how much is your book idea profitable
Market research is the foremost thing you should concentrate upon. If done poorly all your hard work will go in vain and you will not make any sales.
We start off by finding if there is a market for our niche.
Go to Amazon.com, narrow down your search result to “Kindle Store”. Then lets look at
Let’s search the keyword “weight”.

You can see how Amazon is showing you suggestions, this means there is a market related to weight loss plus you can even write about weight-lifting, training etc.
Next, you want to begin to analyze the COMPETITION of a niche or keyword.
For each keyword that you type in and search for in the Kindle store, there will be a certain number of competing books.
For “weight loss” tens of thousands competing books are available on Amazon which is really bad and hard to sell.

But if you are available to narrow down your search result to “weight loss natural method”, the number of competing books comes down to 290 which is not that bad and can be profitable.

Also, many of these books only has 2-3 reviews.
This is basically telling me that these books aren’t yet well-established in this niche and that I could easily out-rank them if I got more reviews and market my Kindle book the right way.
Overall, I would conclude that “weight loss natural method” would be a good topic to create a book on.
3. Create A Title and Cover For Your Kindle E-Book
Once you have decided upon a topic to write on, the next step is to create a title and a cover for your book.
The important thing in this is to include the search result keyword in the book title.
This will help to get your Kindle book noticed and ranked in Amazon for that keyword.
For example, your book title could be like this
- Weight loss natural method – Simple Steps to lose weight fast
- Step-By-Step method to lose weight naturally
You want to make sure that your title is compelling and really grabs attention.
The more keywords you can have in the title, the better, as your book will show up in the search results more often.
You can also look at the competing books and try to do something different as well, so your book will stand out.
Once the title is decided, you want a cover for your book.
You can design yourself if you know how to use Photoshop or are good with graphics.
The easy option is to hire someone from Fiverr to create the cover.
The price ranges from only $5 to $25.

Investing in a quality cover can really make a big difference in the sales of your book and make it stand out from all the rest.
4. Writing your book
If you are an enthusiast writer, you can write the book on your own or hire someone else to do it.
The length of a non-fiction book isn’t relevant.
The audience doesn’t make as big of a deal out of the length of the book as do fiction readers.
They only care about losing weight and whether or not it helps them.
But if you are looking to hire someone, keep in mind the length of the book.
If you are planning to write a 20-40 page book, it sells for $2.99. So you want to hire a person who can complete this task for less.
It is very difficult to find such freelancer writer but you have to continue looking otherwise the effort isn’t worth it.
Some websites that you can find writers are places like iWriter, and WarriorForum in the Warriors for Hire section, and there are many others out there.
The Last couple of things you want to do is proofreading and adjusting your book according to Kindle formatting guidelines.
5. Publish Your Kindle E-Book on Amazon –
This is the easiest part to do as you have to just fill out about your book like title, book description, to verify your publishing rights, add categories and keywords for your book, upload your cover, and upload your Kindle eBook file.
Everything is fairly straightforward.

The most important thing in this is the book description. The description should be such that it attracts people.

On the next page, KDP will ask you to verify your publishing territories and to choose your royalty.
As you can see, you can make your Kindle book available worldwide. This means literally anyone and everyone can now purchase your Kindle book.

The price depends on the number of pages, but to begin with, I suggest you price the book at $0.99 and the 35% royalty option, simply because you want to get as many people to buy and review the Kindle book as possible.

However, I even start with $0 so the book gets as much reach as possible. There is also a program call KDP select which helps with the promotion.
Once the book gets higher ranking and appears in the Amazon bestseller list. You can change the price to $2.99 at the 70% royalty and start to see the money roll in.
Finally, you get to “Save and Publish” your book, in which case it will be live on Amazon and for sale within 24 hours.
6. Getting Amazon Reviews –
If your book has zero reviews or has some 1 or 2-star reviews, then people likely won’t buy it.
On the other hand, if the book has a decent number of 4 and 5-star reviews, then most people will likely buy it.

If someone reads a review like this, the chances of buying the book is more.
So how do you get high quality, 5 stars Amazon Verified Reviews?
The simple way is by giving away your book for free.
You have to find people who review kindle book on Facebook or other forum and then gift them from your Amazon book page, simply by clicking “Give As A Gift” and send it to their email.
You can easily find people on the internet looking to reduce their weight.
There are also a ton of Facebook groups of other authors and Kindle readers that you could send your book to, and many of them will be willing to receive your book and review it.
But keep in mind if your book sucks it will get negative reviews and the chances of your book succeeding
